Irish Linen Double Damask 202t.c. is among the ultimate in fine Linen. The difference between Single and Double Damask: Visual effects and patterns appear in fine Irish Linen Damask by weaving the threads at right angles. They reflect the light differently according to the angle of the light. Subtle effects appear from the use of shorter lengths of thread and sometimes by special weaves. Single Damask is woven by passing filling threads over four warp threads and under the fifth. Double Damask is woven by passing threads over seven, and under the eighth. Always keep in mind that Single and Double Damasks are weaving terms, and not quality standards. Double Damask does not signify double strength, weight, or worth. A good Single Damask is superior to a lesser Double Damask. Whichever you choose, you can be assured that it will serve you quite well over the years. Be sure about the product origin, Thomas Ferguson's Irish Linen is the only genuine Irish Linen Damask, as Ferguson's is the only remaining damask table linen weaver in Northern Ireland.
